A parent wants to talk with the school but doesn't know how

These are the same steps our staff use when they help someone. "They" means the person who needs help: you, or someone you are helping. Go in order, and call ahead when you can.
1Find out what they want to talk about
You can ask"What is going on with your child at school?"
You can ask"What would you like to happen?"
You can say"Schools want to hear from parents. You are your child's best helper."
2Know who to talk to
Start with the teacher for grades, homework and classroom problems.
Next is the school counselor or principal for bullying, attendance, discipline or safety.
Then the district office if it is still not fixed.
At the Gospel MissionClothing bank for children and weekend snack bags.
