Use when someone has a job interview and needs to get ready: what to wear, how to get there, what to say, and how to talk about a gap or a record.
In danger right now: call 911. Crisis or thoughts of suicide: call or text 988. Not sure where to start? Call the Silver City Gospel Mission: 575-388-5071. Police, fire or sheriff, not an emergency: 575-388-8840 (Central Dispatch). Print our list of phone numbers →
These are the same steps our staff use when they help someone. "They" means the person who needs help: you, or someone you are helping. Go in order, and call ahead when you can.
1Plan the day before
You can ask"When and where is the interview? How will you get there?"
Plan to arrive 10 minutes early. Know the name of the person to ask for.
420 W. Broadway St., Silver City · Job center weekday hours
5After the interview
Say thank you. Call or email a thank-you the same day or the next.
If they don't hear back in a week, call and ask politely.
Not hired? Ask what would help next time, and keep applying.
