These are the same steps our staff use when they help someone. "They" means the person who needs help: you, or someone you are helping. Go in order, and call ahead when you can.
1Find out which question it is
You can ask"Do you need a parking placard, or is this about an animal that helps you?"
You can say"Let's find the right answer and the right form."
2Get a disabled parking placard
A New Mexico resident can get a placard if they cannot walk 100 feet without resting, or need a cane, brace, crutch, wheelchair or other help to walk.

3Service animal rules (ADA)
A service animal is a dog trained to do a task for a person's disability, like guiding, alerting or helping during a seizure.
Staff may ask only two questions: "Is the dog needed because of a disability?" and "What task is it trained to do?"
No vest, ID card or online certificate is needed or required.
