Lost a pet, found a stray, or has to give up a pet
Use when someone lost their dog or cat, found a stray animal, or has to give up a pet because of housing, money, health or a move. Covers searching, reporting, rehoming and surrender in Grant County.
These are the same steps our staff use when they help someone. "They" means the person who needs help: you, or someone you are helping. Go in order, and call ahead when you can.
You can ask"Did you lose a pet, find an animal, or do you need to find a new home for your pet?"
You can ask"Is anyone hurt? Was anyone bitten?"
Someone was bitten or scratched: wash it well with soap and water and see a doctor. See the guide "Bitten by a snake, dog or other animal, or stung by a scorpion or spider".
This guide is general information only, not medical, legal or other professional advice. Places and rules change, so please call before you go. In an emergency, call 911; in a mental health crisis, call or text 988. Disclaimer
