These are the same steps our staff use when they help someone. "They" means the person who needs help: you, or someone you are helping. Go in order, and call ahead when you can.
1 Find out where they live and how they get aroundYou can ask "What town or road do you live on? Do you have a car, a ride, or a bus nearby?"
You can ask "What do you need most right now: food, a doctor, a ride, or help with papers?"
You can say "There is help closer to home than you might think. Let's find what is near you."
At the Gospel Mission Meals, pantry bags and showers are here on weekdays when they can get to town. Ask staff if Pantry to the People comes near them.
