These are the same steps our staff use when they help someone. "They" means the person who needs help: you, or someone you are helping. Go in order, and call ahead when you can.
1Find out what they need
You can ask"What supplies do you use, and how many a day? How many do you have left?"
You can ask"Do you have Medicaid or Medicare? Do you have a doctor?"
You can say"This is common and nothing to be ashamed of. Let's get you what you need."
Can't pass urine at all, or a stoma that is black, purple or bleeding a lot, needs care now. Go to the emergency room or call 911.
