1Ask what they need

You can ask"Is this a regular check-up, or a physical someone asked you to get (job, school, sports, a program)?"
You can ask"When did you last see a doctor? Do you have Medicaid, Medicare or other insurance?"
You can say"A yearly check-up can catch problems early, when they are easier to fix."
